What To Expect

The Learn Different Clinic

We provide services to children, adolescents and families including psycho-educational and mental health assessments, academic intervention and support for assistive technology. Areas of focus in the clinic include reading, writing, note-taking, organization, mathematics and therapy.

Step 1 – Consultation

We gather information about the student’s learning profile and the areas of difficulty he or she is experiencing. Recommendations around academic interventions and the types of assistive technology will be provided, after which we will develop a comprehensive plan to support the student including IEP recommendations.

Step 2 – Follow up

We introduce either a remediation or compensatory plan that includes one-on-one instruction on implementing the strategies effectively. Our academic interventionists can come to your home to provide weekly support and direct instruction on the use of the recommended assistive technologies. We normally recommend a regular schedule until we tackle and solve the main academic difficulties. Students can then return if new academic challenges emerge.

Additionally, we offer evidence-based treatment to children, adolescents and families. This includes helping individuals cope with anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, adjustment issues and health-related concerns.

The clinic is located in the Bloor Park Medical Centre, 726 Bloor Street West, Suite 306A, Toronto, Ontario. Corner of Bloor and Christie beside the Christie subway station. Parking is located behind the building.
